What are the documents required for opening the NRI account?

Documents required for NRI accounts (NRE/NRO): -

- India address proof

- Foreign address proof

- PIS Letter (issued by RBI)

- PAN card

- Bank Account Statement/Passbook

- Bank proof should indicate NRE/NRO saving account details.

If NRE or NRO is not mentioned (pre-printed) on the cheque, a bank verification letter is required.

- Attested KYC documents from a Notary Public, Court, Magistrate, Judge, Local Banker, Indian Embassy, or Consulate General of the country where the NRI resides.

- FEMA Letter

- NRI allotted letter
